Timothy Ryan Davidson
Timothy Ryan “Tiny Tim” Davidson was a member of the IT team at WellStar Health System. While those closest to Tim referred to him as Tiny Tim, he was known for lighting up a room with his large smile and huge heart. Upon his death in 2016, the Tim Davidson IT Scholarship was established through the WellStar Foundation. This educational scholarship is awarded to a WellStar employee who has been employed with WellStar for at least one year and will continue employment while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Healthcare Technology.
Impact
Technology is continually transforming the healthcare industry. Convenience, patient communication, improving diagnosis levels and creating life-saving equipment are just a few examples of its impact. To keep pace with this continuous transformation, healthcare organizations embrace new technologies that will improve health outcomes, reduce costs, and provide value-based care. There is a growing need for students that pursue degrees in Healthcare Technology. The recipient of the Tim Davidson IT Scholarship receives funding to help offset the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies, educational equipment and other costs related to the applicant’s pursuit of a degree in the Healthcare Technology field.
