Victoria "Vicki" Bagwell Poston
Victoria “Vicki” Poston grew up and resided in downtown Marietta, Georgia. She attended the same Marietta City Schools that her children and grandchildren have attended, and was an ardent supporter of her community. Known and loved for her kind heart and giving nature, Vicki will always be remembered with joy and love by those who knew her. Upon her death in 2015, Vicki’s family established the Vicki Poston Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a WellStar employee who has been employed at least one year and will continue employment while pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing or higher level degree. Special consideration is given to those applicants who demonstrate an intent to focus on Oncology.
Impact
With a nationwide demand for an increase of nursing professionals, this scholarship encourages WellStar employees to pursue a degree in nursing by providing funding to help offset the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies, educational equipment and other costs related to the applicant’s academic pursuit. Emphasizing a focus on Oncology helps to address a need for nurses who play an important role along the cancer care continuum.
