Wellstar Kennestone Shared Governance Nursing Scholarship
These scholarships are awarded to WellStar Kennestone Hospital employees who have been employed with WellStar for at least 12 months and are enrolled in an associates, bachelors or masters level certified nursing program. Funding for these scholarships comes from donations made to the WellStar Foundation, restricted for the WellStar Kennestone Shared Governance Nursing scholarship and through fundraisers held annually by hospital staff.
Impact
The recipients of the Kennestone Shared Governance Nursing scholarship receive funding to help offset the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies, educational equipment and other costs related to the applicant’s pursuit of a degree in the Nursing profession. Increasing the supply of qualified nurse professionals within WellStar Kennestone Hospital is the primary purpose and impact of awarding this academic scholarship.
