Wellstar Foundation scholarships are general academic scholarships available to Wellstar employees and their dependents pursuing a degree in a healthcare related field. These scholarships are funded primarily through donations made by WellStar team members, as well as through funding designated by the Wellstar Foundation Board of Trustees. They include, but are not limited to, majors such as Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy, Nursing, Health Information Management, Clinical Laboratory Science, Exercise Science, Public Health, Pre-Med, and others. The primary purpose of these scholarships is to increase the local supply of healthcare professionals by offering financial assistance to qualified persons pursuing a degree in a healthcare related field..
Impact
Through tax-deductible donations, WellStar employees have the opportunity to make an impact on the lives of their fellow team members by donating to the Wellstar Foundation Educational Scholarship. These scholarships help to increase the local supply of healthcare professionals and retain healthcare providers within the Wellstar community. Each year, multiple recipients of the Wellstar Foundation Educational Scholarship receive funding to help offset the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies. educational equipment and other costs related to the applicant’s pursuit of a degree in healthcare related fields.
